BNTD’s mediation practice team is led by certified mediators Marti Bluestein and Allison Sullivan. The practice focuses on the resolution of workers’ compensation claims as well as civil litigation matters.
Bluestein and Sullivan both have extensive experience in workers’ compensation matters and are contributing co-authors of The Law of Workers’ Compensation Insurance in South Carolina (6th edition). Bluestein and Sullivan have been recognized as “Best Lawyers in America” for their representation of Claimants in workers’ compensation claims with Bluestein receiving “Lawyer of the Year” designation by “Best Lawyers in America” in the Columbia metropolitan area in 2013 and 2016. Sullivan has been recognized as one of the Legal Elite of the Midlands workers’ compensation practitioners by Columbia Business Monthly. “We are excited that we will be able to expand our practice area to help others in the industry achieve certain resolution of their claims,” said Bluestein. “Allison and I have seen firsthand the benefit of the mediation process for all involved parties and hope to facilitate the efficient conclusion of workers’ compensation claims.”
Sullivan will also be available to serve as mediator in a variety of civil litigation matters. Sullivan, has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star personal injury attorney and by the American Society of Legal Advocates as one of the Top 40 under 40 Litigation Lawyers in South Carolina. “As a female lawyer with a plaintiff’s litigation practice I believe I have a unique perspective that may assist the parties in resolving civil litigation matters,” said Sullivan. “I believe my experience across a wide spectrum of civil litigation matters representing both individuals and businesses can help the parties develop creative solutions to settle a range of legal disputes.”
