Sally Peek to be Honored by Mayor

Paralegal Sally Peek will be honored by Mayor Bob Coble on June 24, 2008 for extinguishing a fire.
On May 2, 2008, Sally was traveling in her car when she spotted a small, uncontrolled fire at the intersection of Trenholm Road and Haygood Avenue. She immediately pulled over and extinguished the fire with her sandals and the water that she had in her car. If not for Sally's quick actions, the fire could have spread and presented a much greater threat given the area's dry conditions.
