Nichols Selected for Diversity Leaders Initiative
March 3, 2010
Attorney John Nichols was one of forty-one community leaders selected to participate in the Spring 2010 Midlands session of Furman University's Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative.
The Diversity Leaders Initiative is an innovative leadership development program that builds diversity management skills, and facilitates new and deeper relationships between those of different genders, races, cultural backgrounds, religions, and physical abilities. The program provides community leaders with the opportunity to learn and apply new skills to relevant community issues and development opportunities.
Participants in the program are selected from a variety of sources, including businesses, government agencies, non-profit groups, and faith-based organizations. The group will meet for a full day workshop once per month for six months, and will develop a community project centered on issues affecting diversity.
